If your consent is broken, so is your measurement

When the cookie banner and Consent Mode are set up wrong, two things happen at once: you fall foul of the AEPD's (Spain's data protection authority) cookie guidance, and you stop measuring part of your conversions, so you're paying for campaigns blind. We audit cookies, tags and consent with the eye of a team that has spent fifteen years inside the marketing data stack, and we tell you what to fix to get your measurement back while staying compliant.

Why this is a marketing problem, not just a legal one

The banner decides how much of your campaigns you can see

With Consent Mode v2, what the user answers in the banner determines which signals reach Google Ads, GA4 and the rest of your platforms. A banner that fails to record consent properly, a tag that fires too early or a badly configured advanced mode all turn into conversions that go unattributed, audiences that never fill up and bidding that optimises on incomplete data.

The usual fix — 'make the banner more aggressive' — is exactly what the AEPD considers contrary to its cookie guidance. The good news is that complying properly and measuring properly don't compete: clean consent, with tags that are genuinely conditional and conversion modelling switched on, usually measures better than a botched setup. That's what we audit.

What we audit

Cookies, tags and consent, end to end

Real inventory of cookies and trackers

We crawl the site and compare what actually gets set against what the banner and the cookie policy declare. They almost never match.

Banner and CMP against the AEPD's guidance

Rejecting as easy as accepting, no walls or dark patterns, correct categories, accessible withdrawal and a record of consent.

Consent Mode v2 and lost measurement

Basic or advanced mode, signals sent by default and after consent, and how much of your measurement you're losing to implementation errors.

Tag manager

What fires before consent, which tags are not conditional and which vendors receive data with no legal basis. GTM, sGTM and equivalents.

Fix plan ordered by impact

A list of changes ranked by how much measurement each recovers and how much risk it removes, with instructions your agency or your team can carry out.

One report for two readers

The same audit serves marketing (what measurement you get back) and the DPO (Data Protection Officer) or legal (what non-compliance you close). No translating between departments.

What's not included
  • Implementing the changes in your tag manager or your CMP (consent management platform): we give you the exact instructions; your team, your agency or we as a separate project carry them out.
  • Writing the cookie or privacy policy from scratch: we review it and mark what to fix; a full rewrite is a separate engagement.
  • Auditing mobile apps or native SDKs: the scope is web (including subdomains and campaign landing pages).
  • Guaranteeing a figure for recovered measurement: it depends on your traffic and your banner; we give you the diagnosis and the plan, not a promise.
How it works

Duration
About 3 weeks from the moment we have read access to GTM and the CMP.
Price
Fixed price, agreed in writing before we start, based on the number of domains and the complexity of the stack.
Next step
Tell us your domain and which platforms you use (GA4, Ads, Meta, CMP) and within 48 hours we tell you whether there are signs of lost measurement and what the audit's scope would be.

Stop paying for campaigns blind

Tell us what you measure, with which banner, and what worries you. We tell you whether consent is costing you measurement and how to get it back while staying compliant.
